DESCRIPTION: Improvements to Sludge Handling Facilities
at Greenridge, Chocolate Bayou, Northgate, Intercontinental
Airport and Beltway Wastewater Treatment Plants.

CONSTRUCTION
COST: $3.0 million (Estimated KGI's Portion of the
Project).
Total project cost is estimated at $3.91 million.
SCOPE
OF WORK: KGI was responsible for preparing preliminary
engineering, final design, and construction drawings
and technical specifications for Greenridge, Chocolate
Bayou and Northgate wastewater treatment plants. KGI's
scope included process, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation.
Civil and Structural portions of the project were performed
by Others.
Some
of the major improvements included:
- New
70 ft. diameter Thickener.
- Modifications
to existing Aerobic Digesters including Diffused Aeration
System.
- Thickened
Sludge Transfer Pumps.
- Belt
Filter Press Feed Pumps.
- Dewatered
Sludge Pumps at Chocolate Bayou and Northgate WWTPs.
- Belt
Conveyance System at Greenridge WWTP.
- Polymer
Systems.
- Electrical,
Instrumentation and Controls at all of the plants
